About This Game EARLY ACCESS IMPORTANT NOTESWe want to clarify why this game is being released in early access instead of using crowdfunding. One reason is that it introduces players to the basic mechanics of the game early on, allowing the community share ideas for improvement while the game is still being developed. Although we are a small team, we have worked diligently on this project for almost three years and still have a long road ahead of us until we can expand our development team to speed things up. So please be patient as we continue to improve the game and add new features. We want to deliver the final project as fast as possible, but we also want to ensure it is polished and optimized. We believe feedback from early access is the best way to ensure a quality final product.Current stateIn the actual state of the game, you can freely express your dreams of building mighty castles of large scales or tiny medieval villages with a focus on realism. On the other hand, you can turn off all real physics restrictions just to unleash your fantasy.Under constructionCurrently, we are working on the village simulation mode, where you will take care of a few villagers, and together build a fief, by gathering resources, attracting wanderers to join your community, Taking cares of your dwellers, so they want to set up families. Also, we would like to make sandbox mode full of casual people doing their jobs.Long term plansOnce simulation mode is done, then we would like to add less optimistic simulation, where bad stuff happening. You will have to even defend your fief of thief raids.DevelopmentThis game is still in development. Initial Early Access release may not have all these entire features initially implemented but we will continue adding them over time. Instead of pointing-and-clicking with mouse as is common sandbox games (Sim City, etc), the controls are all keyboard-based. This makes precision building difficult and the game not worthwhile. if I could return it I would as I am very dissatisfied with the user interface. Save you money for a game that is easier to play.. last update was 3 months ago Iwould say this game is dead. Game has a long way to go until it's complete, but can offer a lot of fun already in its current state.I picked it because it has a unique bulding system that allows to create fantastic castles extremely easily. It is just a matter of undestanding controls before you can enjoy the building.Every piece of wall, tower etc. fits together perfectly creating seamless structures. Fantastic.That being said, a lot of elements could be improved. Most notable issues I encountered:- Cometimes a block cannot be deleted normally (only using hard delete) and then nothing can be put in its place. Space is blocked indefinitely and that can really mess up the entire castle.- Camera is infuriartingly slow. Bulding would be more convenient and friendly if the screen panning was faster.- Landscaping tools do not work properly. Additionally, after reloading saved game, all landscape goes back to original, which means parts of the castle can go underground and have to be excavated before continuing work.- If a castle is really big, the game may fail to load the "take a walk" mode.Some elements that would be great to have:- flooring - I think there is only stones and one kind of tiles- more kinds of windows, bigger doors.- more decorations for interiors, like paintings, bookshelves etc. to create a lived-in castle feeling.- More options for vaultings/supporting floors.- tutorial system would make the game more accessible and bring more people willing to try it.I can recommend the game to every fan of castles who wants to build on his own - quickly and easily. Although, one has to be aware of current limitations.Thanks to the developers for such creative and unique game. I am looking forward to seeing it develop into the full experience.. If Your looking for a nice relaxing building game look else where half of your game playing time will be spent moving around the screen trying to get the angle you need to see where your building using the zoom ,which by the way is not forward/backwards move control. The two terrain choice's you have are mountainous and a bit less mountainous ideal for building couple that with the sketchy ground level tool and its frustration city.. Short version: For something so Super-early access, I'm having fun.But again... Super Early Access, so understand you won't be fighting anything anytime soon.Still, this game is promising. You can start by building little Palisaides or additions to your starting house, or ignore the house and go straight to stone Ramparts and towers. There are available Battlements for your Ramparts complete with Machicolations (murder-holes), etc, and for now you're just starting with an ungodly (nearly unlimited) amount of resources. The Palace isn't available yet, but some of the DonJon (Rapunzel-like Dungeon in the Sky) options seem to combine well with housing elements for a palatial feel in a keep area I've been creating. I've so far built the fortifications for a city and have barely touched my resource count. Wood houses very appropriately start with stone foundations... all in all I'm impressed. A couple things I initially thought were buggy turned out to be me not understanding the interface... Such as when you left-click to get rid of something, only the placement of your MOUSE matters (which is counter to putting something down, as you right-click when the wireframe is in place). The mouse looks like a little quill. So I couldn't figure out why there were some items I couldn't remove very easily... it's because I was removing them the wrong way.There are a couple minor bugs at the moment... for instance when I click on certain menu options (to select DonJon layouts from the menu, for instance), It doesn't take me right there, but when I hit escape, then cancel the main menu, I'm in the menu I wished to be in. More quirks than problems though. Oh, hold shift to speed move. I was pointing myself up, floating around, then taking forever to go across my city area.. This game needs a ton of work. I found several glitches in the building mode. When saving the game it deleted all of my work which was tedious because the physics of the game are so underdeveloped. Another time structures could not be deleted because phantom deleted structures had been deleted and were holding the same space. Building needs to be far more intuitive and easy if this game is going to be the real deal. I would recommend a separate mode for bridgebuilding it seems way to complex to build the way other structures are built. A.I. and attacks haven't even been added yet. To me, this game is 20 years from being ready, but we need something like this yesterday. It could be worth the $30 I spent on it if it was fully functioning and the physics didn't suck, but right now: $2.99.. gave up trying to play...boring and frustrating user interface. The demo version does not support saves and will end once you complete your first ring dive or manage to destroy your ship.Game is still under active development, and while I could not find any bugs on release, there sure can be some lurking in there.
